Hello
I am Heike Nwagbo, a UK-based visual artist working across oil pastel, acrylic, crochet and mixed media. My practice explores themes of identity, belonging and cultural heritage, weaving personal narratives into bold, expressive compositions. Through colour, texture and form, I invite viewers to engage with stories that bridge past, present and future.
How it all happened?
2023
Stopped working as an accountant and started my 3-year course in Fine Art (BA) at the University for Creative Arts in Canterbury (United Kingdom).
2024
Sharing an art studio with artists in Gravesend and having two exhibitions as a collaboration with other artists. Hosting my first workshop in paper making at the art gallery in Gravesend.
2025
Renting my own studio at the Clubb’s Yard Studio in Gravesend. First exhibition with my series “ME” at the Boomer Gallery in London. Exhibited two times at the Halpern Gallery in Chatham (Summer and Winter Exhibition). Part of the team “We live here” as a project of Art Director Tim Harrison. Photoshoot with Award-winning Photograph artist Allie Crewe as part of her Exhibition. Volunteering for the Estuary Festival in Medway.
2026
January: Writing my dissertation “The art about time”. May: Preparing the Final Major Project for the Degree Show at the University for Creative Arts. June: Degree Show with my final work “Zuhause”. July: Graduation Ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
